Winchester MAG AGM 2018 23/10/18 Held at Dog and Crook, Colden Common. Meeting started at 20:17 Attendees - see separate sheet. Apologies: none Previous meetings minutes accepted. Rep welcomed all attendees to the meeting. Reps report: Still keeping Winchester MAG going. Didn't hold a show this year due to shortage of members, so will be helping other groups with their shows. Numbers in other groups down as well as with Winchester. Jim is happy to keep going as long as his health holds out. Christmas meal coming up on December 11th at Queen's Head. Treasurers Report: Current funds stand at £623.37 Proposed to send £350 to Regional, and carried. Officers stand down at 20:31 Regional Rep Tim Peregrine: Regional AGM was held a couple of weeks ago. Low attendance being seen at local groups. No groups have lost members this year. 6 regions have increased by over 100. Issues with CANS (Campaign against Noise and Speed) in Meon valley - Vehicle noise and speed is a perceived problem. Promises to Meon Valley residents have not been kept by PCC or HCC. ULEZs gathering pace - London introducing £12.50 charge for non-compliant bikes. Birmingham and also now Bath are wins with Motorcycles exempted from charges. EU has ramped down emission limits and are pressing member states to increase control zones. MAG is now locally involved with Portsmouth transport steering group on clean air so we are noted as stakeholders. We have been holding activists training. Consultations are a big issue. We need to keep up with local consultations from different local councils who all advertise in different places, making it difficult to find and keep up. We need to encourage members to reply to consultations. Salisbury no show this year, but Portsmouth very successful. Local council road safety steering groups - We are involved with groups in North, Centre and South of Hampshire. These groups cover a divese set of participants - fire, police, transport groups and local councils. GDPR now in effect, so we must now comply with data protection. MAG foundation the charity - Now getting going again after nearly ceasing to function. Helped by a beneficiary's donation. Buying through Amazon has a facility called Smile, which pays a proportion of purchases funds to nominated charities, and MAG Foundation can be specified as a beneficiary at no extra cost to consumer. They set up the lock to lock cards which came with a previous Road magazine. Think bike and Diesel kills still going on. AGC - Fighting the health lobby which keeps quoting 40000 deaths a year. MAG disputes the figures. There was a debate on the approach to take between Ian and Lembit's positions. NC meetings held in Warwick. Any member can attend but need to arrange prior to meeting with Regional Rep. Vacancies at all levels. Need National Clubs Liaison. Central contributions from region recently £3000 and smaller amounts regularly. Election of officer's Rep : Jim standing. Elected unopposed. Rick proposed, Mark seconded. Treasurer: Mark standing. Springbridge farm food bar are looking for old helmets. Also hold a bike night on Friday evenings.
